drank too much coffee. found a skull. bought a personal library.draws ponies. and should be sleeping. my horse is sexier than me.
Though currently trapped in the Mojave Desert in a little place know as Twenty nine Palms, or more affectionately know as hell on earth, I am attending the Academy of Art in the fall for my B.A. in illustration. My main focus has always been horse- doodling them between riding and school, however I am beginning to branch out more. Aspiring to work on comics, I have create my own- Carousel – a pre- and post- apocalyptic story that contains a lesson in the history of Chernobyl, Las Vegas, and the rise of criminal profiling- all things that pull from my other college work of criminal justice and my continuation of biology. Of course, there’ll be mutated carousal horses, ghosts, unruly humans, and a tentacled equine.
I find art to be a sense of release from day to day chores. It’s an inspiring outlet that I feel is unfortunately underutilized. I hope one day people are inspired by the creepy ponies that developed from chicken scratch that led me to art school- something I never thought achievable- to remember that if you’re passionate about something just fucking do it.
“Just draw ‘cause you love it, you know, I think that’s why you should be doing it. You should always be doing art for the right reasons, um, and with the best intentions. Anything at all is completely possible and I think that’s what I like about drawing. I think it’s just really fun. You can do anything you want. And that’s part of, like, what’s really enjoyable about it… is kind of losing yourself in it.” - Gerard Way
